No matter how hard we work to attain a life of ease an avalanche of losses may wipe us out at any moment. How do we spiritually prepare for disasters that we don’t see coming? To what hope do we cling to when calamity crashes in?
The unseen presence of the Lord is like a warm blanket around you. Someone to talk to, someone to comfort you—a sense of reassurance.
There was a process during which Peter wallowed in remorse, wishing he could, if possible, correct his error...but he couldn’t. And somewhere in the midst of it he heard the Lord say to him, “Peter, I forgive you. I understand.”
Think of someone who may have blown it. He or she needs your love, not your judgment. Leave grudges to the world and open your arms with a forgiving embrace.
Maturity is a life-long process, and it’s often through times of testing we mature the most. Some people never get it.
Your attitude is the most important thing about you. More than your past, your success, your fame, your position, your income, your mate, or your reputation, attitude is above all of that. How much time do you waste losing your temper on things you can’t change?
Do you realize there are only two eternal things on earth today? Only two: people and God’s Word. Everything else will ultimately be burned up—everything else. Kind of sets your priorities straight, doesn’t it?
As followers of our Lord, we believe He leads us in a certain direction in pursuit of a precise goal. His leading is unmistakably clear. Not necessarily logical or explainable, but clear.
There can be no more reliable authority on earth than God’s Word, the Bible. This timeless, trustworthy source of truth holds the key that unlocks life’s mysteries.
