If we lived in that first century and met someone like Jesus, it would take our breath away. As Christmas arrives, we think of the great blessing that is ours because of Jesus. This charming grace.
When was the last time you gave a gift to a loved one expecting a payment in return? Probably never because if you receive payment for a gift, it ceases to be a gift! Likewise, God’s gift of salvation has been freely given. We can’t earn it and He doesn’t expect payment for it. God wrapped His indescribable gift in eternity, equality, deity, and humility. In this world of habitual lying, false stories, and deceitful people, there is nothing that will give you the security you need like God’s Word and the Son of God Himself. Stay committed to the Bible and by doing so, you learn more and more what’s true.

All who come to God must empty themselves of themselves. They must set aside their self-centredness, selfish ambition, and self-sufficiency. In other words, they must put away pride and put on humility.

When Jesus first began His earthly ministry, large crowds followed Him…hoping to benefit from His miracles. But Jesus had a much bigger purpose in mind than merely entertaining the crowds!
Nothing on this earth is anything even like heaven. Nothing. We could spend the next decade only thinking about heaven and still come up so short we’d have wasted our time. Because when you move from the realm of the seen to the unseen it becomes incomprehensible.
God is gracious to include us in His plan to reach the lost. He uses people like us to tell others about his unfathomable mercy and grace.
