Chuck and Cynthia Swindoll dedicate the IFLC office building in April 2003.
The history of Insight for Living Canada (IFLC) begins in 1984. A group of friends studying the Bible was struggling to find material to use and Chuck Swindoll's ministry tapes were suggested. After a few weeks of listening to the tapes they discovered that Chuck's teaching was available on the radio. The group decided to encourage the ministry of Insight for Living (IFL) to "come to Canada."
One of the group, Bob Kuhn, was delegated the task of contacting IFL. Little did he know this would lead to being the first Chairman of the Board, a role he has fulfilled ever since. The Canadian entity, IFLC, was legally established in late 1984, and began with a small office in Vancouver and two employees.
IFLC has maintained the high standards synonymous with IFL from its early days, carrying the seal of financial accountability from the Canadian Council of Christian Charities.
Despite the challenges of Christian ministry in Canada, IFLC has steadily grown in its goal of reaching Canadians with the Truth of God's Word. IFLC supporters not only cover the costs of broadcasting on almost 100 Canadian radio stations, but stand with their brothers and sisters in the US in furthering the coordinated effort to spread God's Word throughout the world.
