God is the Master Gardener who knows best how to restore relationships to their intended beauty. His Word contains the keys to a flourishing garden, and the first key is repentance.
Calvin was a man of faithful constancy who endeavoured to magnify the glory of God and rest in His sovereignty, no matter the circumstance. As we pray, let us fearlessly commit ourselves to God and take comfort that our time is in His hand.
Where can Christians turn when we’ve been pushed around, misunderstood, and bruised with adversity? The answer for us today is not unlike the answer for the ancient Hebrews. Following God’s Law, they set up “cities of refuge”—pockets of security and protection, where healing could happen. Places of spiritual refuge are just as needed today.
You’re not very far along in life before you struggle with tough questions. It’s at times like this we really need hope.
