Bravery is not just limited to war—daily life can be a battlefield. If you’re facing a tough situation requiring great courage don’t compromise on what you believe. The world needs people who are committed to standing alone for the truth.
There is no pursuit more important than the cultivation of your family. That’s the one eternal thing you leave behind. While you can’t undo the past, you can work intentionally to reconcile and restore your relationships.
We meet the same people every day but we often don’t even know their names. Today, take time to greet the grocery store cashier or bank teller by name. A few words of kindness go a long way.
Resolutions are what we determine will happen, based on convictions, personal disciplines, strong purpose, clear vision, or a sense of mission. Predictions are things we anticipate might happen. These are based on assumptions, opinions, trends, or feelings. When you think about it, predictions and worry have a lot in common...they both forecast the future based on assumptions or feelings. They waste your energy and rob you of the joy of living today.
Think for a moment about the people you’ve known that have made a positive difference in your life. Leaving a legacy of helping others and making a difference is something we can all do.
Strong Leadership is essential. If you’re in a position of influence, consider the example of Christ. He came not to be served but to serve. Strong leadership is servant leadership.
Music is medicinal. It calms, soothes, and lifts our weariness. It also delights and entertains, and helps us to forget our problems. Like the English poet William Congreve said—music has charms to sooth the savage breast, to soften rocks, to bend a knotted oak.
Everyone make mistakes. But there’s a difference between making a mistake and living an irresponsible life. We’re accountable for the lives we live and one day each one of us will give an account of our life to God.
Are you acting your age? Just because you’re getting older doesn’t mean you can’t stay young. Adding enthusiasm will make a world of difference. None are so old as the one who has outlived enthusiasm.
