Hundreds of phobias were listed including Arachibutyrophobia, which is fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth! My dog has this fear, but I do not. However, I do experience the number one fear among humans—speaking in public.

Waiting for a Good God

Ours is a day of instant gratification. If we could put that theologically, the god of today is the god of the quick fix. This is true not only in the realm of our possessions, but also in the realm of our expectations. In possessions, we not only want what we want, we want them when we want them. And in expectations, we not only want God to act, we want Him to act right now.

Driving Lesson

I spend a fair bit of time driving and often find myself frustrated, irritated, and impatient behind the wheel. My attitude on the road is not always Christlike, to say the least. Over time, God has been gently convicting me that I need to hand this part of my daily life over to Him. The reality is that my behaviour on the road is as much a part of my Christian witness as the rest of my life. I don’t stop being a Christian just because I’m encased in a piece of metal. Call me slow, but it took a long time to come to terms with this revolutionary concept.
