Romans 5:1–11Airs: June 23 - June 25
What a magnificent section of Scripture we have before us in this message! Now that we have examined a raw, realistic portrait of human depravity and gotten a firm grip on God’s grace—which prompts Him, because of His love, to justify the ungodly—it’s time to rejoice! What better way for us to respond to our being declared righteous than by rejoicing? To use Paul’s term, when this triumphant joy takes hold of us, “we exult” (Romans 5:2,3,11). We have reached the place in this letter where we are made aware of some of the blessings for the believer that follow our being “justified by faith” (5:1). These blessings create within us an attitude of unparalleled joy.
